The Power and Mystery of Pyramids

The meaning of the word pyramid is "fire in the middle," derived from the Latin pyra (Greek pur ), meaning fire or light. What is this fire in the middle and how is it created?

A pyramid structure, with closed or open sides, creates a vital centre of electromagnetic energy if it is constructed to the same proportional dimensions as the Great Pyramid of Giza and if one of its straight sides is facing true north. As long as the pyramid is aligned to the north-south magnetic axis it will become "charged." The space within the pyramid accumulates and intensifies energy, generating an energy field with unusual properties.

Since pyramid power is only created when a pyramid's angles and ratios match the Great Pyramid, let us first investigate some of the marvels and speculative history of this first and only remaining "Wonder of the World."

The Great Pyramid of Giza

The dimensions of the Great Pyramid are unique. It was built to model the northern hemisphere of Earth, its base representing the equator, the apex the pole, and incorporated the factors pi and Phi long before these ratios were supposedly discovered. The angle of the Pyramid's slopes, 51º 51', creates a ratio of 2 x pi (3.14) between height of the pyramid and its base perimeter, in the same way that the radius of a circle x 2 x pi gives its circumference - in other words the geometry of a circle was translated into the Pyramid. T he Great Pyramid's original height - 481.39 feet - multiplied by 2 x pi gives the perimeter of its base - 3,023.16 feet.

In essence the Pyramid's design squared the circle, portraying the northern hemisphere in "flattened" form, on a scale of 1:43,200. The height of the Pyramid x 43,200 equals the Earth's polar radius. The length of a base side of the Pyramid x 43,200 equals the circumference of Earth at the equator. Since there are 86,400 seconds in 24 hours, the base length equals the distance the Earth rotates at the equator in one half-second.

The architects of the Pyramid also used proportions related to the factor Phi (1.618033...), which is the key to a structural ratio found throughout nature and forms the basis of the aesthetic ratio known as the "Golden Mean" or "Golden Section" commonly used by architects and artists. Phi occurs when a line (A) is divided into two segments (B and C) in one specific place, where the ratio of A to B is the same as the ratio of B to C (1.618...). In the Great Pyramid, the Phi relationship exists in the meridian triangle which is formed by the height, the half base, and the apothem (the line from the apex to mid-base). If the half-base length is given the value 1, then the apothem equals Phi, and the height equals the square root of Phi.

The sides of the Great Pyramid are oriented to the cardinal points, deviating by less than 3/60 th of a degree. The perfect alignment of such a massive structure can only be called miraculous, exceeding the skills of our modern age. To build even a wall with such precision would require highly sophisticated surveying equipment and astronomical data. (The minute deviation from true north might exist due to a time lapse between the design and actual layout of the Pyramid, since due to the effects of precession the pole star, used as a marker, would have drifted fractionally west. )

The Great Pyramid is located precisely in the centre of the Earth's land mass. It stands on the longest land-meridian on Earth, passing through Finland , Turkey and Egypt to South Africa , and the longest parallel across land, one mile from 30 degrees north, passing through Africa, Asia and America . In other words, the lines crossing the most land north to south and east to west intersect at the Pyramid.

The orthodox fraternity of Egyptologists claims that the Giza Pyramids were built by three pharaohs of the Fourth Dynasty (Khufu, Khefre and Menkaure, c. 2400-2600 BC), to be their tombs, yet no bodies have ever been found in these or any other pyramids and the so-called sarcophagus in the Great Pyramid's King's Chamber is too large to have been carried through the door. The Great Pyramid's true role, according to metaphysically oriented writers, was as a temple of initiation - its potent energy field would have facilitated a transition into higher consciousness for those who were trained and prepared. Writers such as Helena Blavatsky, Manly Palmer Hall and Drunvalo Melchizedek affirm that the King's Chamber and its coffer provided the focal point for ceremonies in which the neophyte, who had already undergone various initiations in temples along the Nile , could experience the final initiation: a journey out of the body into an experience of immortality.
