Jane Loney Bio: Yoga Teacher & Shiatsu Therapist
After my first week of yoga practice, at the tender age of 14, I knew that I had stumbled onto some strong medicine. But, it would be another 10 years before I was ready to fully embrace all the profound changes that yoga can bring to a body, a mind and spirit.
Since then, my practice has become one of the most important aspects of my life and I feel compelled to share the teachings from my many yoga teachers: Diane Bruni, Ron Reid, Danny Paradise, Richard Freeman, Chuck Miller and Maty Ezrati -- just to name a few.
In 1999, I received my Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Certification from the downward dog Yoga Centre in Toronto – where I have been teaching ever since. Currently I teach ashtanga , restorative and gentle Hatha yoga classes at studios throughout Toronto.
Also, for the last 15 years, I have been working as a Shiatsu and Suikodo therapist – under the guidance of Mitsuki Kikkawa, my sensei.
Working intimately in shiatsu sessions and teaching energetic, playful yoga classes provides a good balance in my life.
I love my work and love to share the joy it brings me. |
